[Breaking] Bitfinex is now blocking out US customers
One of the biggest exchanges (at least by the volume of BTC, EOS, and IOTA), Bitfinex has just announced that will not verify accounts for residents of U.S. and will restrict them to trade certain digital assets.
What do you think what could be the reason? Is it to prevent FBI seizure like in case of BTC-e?

Can't blame Bitfinex. They've tried for a long time to be compliant with ridiculous US securities laws. Obviously the SEC ruling pushed them over the edge. Consumer 'protections' are pushing crypto enthusiasts right out of the market.
Presumably it could be the reason why IOTA started to fall as soon as that news come out:
Bitfinex is the only exchange which added it.
They are just covering their own asses in case the SEC decides to come after them for operating an illegal exchange. Since they recently decided that ICO tokens fall under the class of "securities" the government has been scrambling to figure out the next step. Exchanges are scared cuz this could mean big changes for them in the future. Bitfinex really bummed me out with this decision because that is my primary exchange. Gonna have to move over to Kraken or HitBTC now to trade my EOS tokens.
Guess it is time to move some assets around!

I totally agree. When it comes to money, the US government and the big banks just can't let us peasants have our own financial system. They need us to depend on them as a means of controlling us. Sad because I love Bitfinex. The GUI and ease of trading is awesome.
Kraken if you are a citizen if the USSAR
Agreed blame the oppressive gov't of the US. They cant arrest Madoff when given to them on a silver platter, until he has stolen millions form people, companies and charities. But they need to meddle in a tiny market like crypto currency
I'm curious to see how all of these regulations will negatively impact the USSA.
