Marriage is a Scam

A guy I know just got a divorce that went through. The judge is making him give his wife 60% of his pension. Why? Because "you make more than her." She ran up 20k in credit card debt that he has to pay for or sell his house so she can get her "equity." He was also told that he must take out a life insurance policy and name her as the exclusive beneficiary...so she can be secure. I thought they were done after the divorce? Guess divorce doesn't mean what we think it does.
