Kronika - Down There Studio
Long time no see. I started a post almost 2 months ago, never finished it (i need to) and was not in the mood to post anything. Probably the mix of Shit show my country is and autumn :D But there are some fun thins happening, this one is one of them.
New album from Kronika. Now it is almost a month ago Kronika started with recording of the second album. 4 days in the Down There Studio.

My knowledge of music instruments and equipment starts and ends with "this guitar looks nice on photos" but entering the studio i can understand how musicians would spend weeks there just testing out everything :D
There is a chance the album will be finished by the end of the year, but going by the timeline with the first one, well... :D
Down There Studio is located in an bunker (bomb shelter). I knew that buildings in New Belgrade had bunkers but i had no idea the city is renting them. Often they rent them to gyms, this one was a studio, one next to this was converted to an Escape room :D

First two days were spent on recording full songs and fixing some small mistakes in drums and bass. Day 3 was keyboards and main vocals (i missed that day). Day 4 was for finishing the main vocals, background vocals and guitar.

Some kind of rare vintage echo, delay, looper or something. Used before the digital era. Looked like painful fun :)
Another blast from the past. There was also an NBA 96, but it didn't want to load. Blowing on it didn't help :D

I didn't know that either! But it makes sense... bunker is a perfect place for a music studio... Maybe I should send my wife and son there when they have to practice... 😂
Btw. Great photos as usual! 😃 I suppose you are collecting photo and video material for future music spots...
Excellent photo report in a musical studio. It's not easy to photograph due to the limited space and inadequate lighting.👏

It’s amazing to read about the passion and effort that went into recording the second album. The setting and the challenges you described really add depth to the story. Even with limited musical knowledge, your reflections bring the whole experience to life!
It’s amazing how they’re creating music in such a unique place like a bunker. I really like how they’re mixing creativity with old-school recording vibes. Can’t wait to hear the new album.
my understanding is he is mostly working with "alternative" bands, so i do understand the sentiment of who ever wrote that 😂
i think he did split a room in half but he can't touch the air system or make any additional holes :D so they count them as functional :D
in the case of emergency it would at least be fun :D
the problem was mostly lighting and not moving while they are recording to not make additional sound :D and they even turned some lights off to make the mood better :D
it is just high ISO (so a lot of grain, noise) and because of that i decided to edit it in a bit of an old style. Film would probably be almost impossible with the light that was there.
