Niger bridge referred to as Onitsha head Bridge is of Nigeria’s most popular and major bridge in nigeria constructed 1964 to 1965, commissioned December 1965.

It links the South-Western and the South-Southern region of the nigeria and the South-East. The Bridge has the two ends Asaba, Delta State and Onitsha, Anambra state.

And also the link to one of the largest marketplaces in all of West Africa, Onitsha also happens to be the gateway to the highly populated eastern region.

Befor 1966, crossing was achieved by river ferries of various types
