Ocean Salmon fishing
Hello friends. I want to share with you a few photos I took while salmon fishing in the ocean just outside of the Mouth of the Columbia River. We were very successful, coming within one fish from limiting out between the four of us. Pictured above from left to right is my son Kyle, myself, my niece Rachael, and her father, my brother-in-law Bill.
Crossing the Columbia River Bar into the Pacific Ocean is always a bit of a nail biter. It is commonly considered to be one of the world’s most dangerous bar crossings.
Once we crossed the bar, the waters in front of Long Beach, and Beard’s Hollow were pretty calm.

My son’s first ever, salmon catch. He was so excited that he almost forgot he was seasick.
Fishing was great, but it could not top the quality time spent with family.

I have heard very often Salmon is very delicious to eat. You have done excellent job by capturing it out from ocean. A good catch. Enjoy:)

We did. We caught 7, and thoroughly enjoyed just being out on the water.

Yes. But there’s a story behind that. I had to use the head, and asked him to watch my line. Of course he hooked the biggest salmon of the day on my line while I was away. I was only gone for less than 5 minutes. Lol

Fishing is not just an activity that requires strength and agility, but it is also a game of mind that requires you to think carefully about the type and place of the shed in order to catch fish.
OH, ok, now that sounds like a fisherman's story to me, Lol
