Is poverty necessary?

Do we really need people to live in poverty to be a functioning society?
Could you imagine how much could potentially change when those who live in poverty no longer have to struggle just to keep food on the table or the lights on. What if we started looking at all of us as one collective human race instead of bullshit social classes that do nothing but fuck with your emotions and 'where you think you should be.' We all share the same earth, same air, same global problems.
