Pollinating my Squash Plants - August 2nd, 2020

In this video I go over a method of pollinating your squash plants to help ensure they bear fruit. Sometimes it is difficult for them get pollinated because the flowers close up in the heat and the bees and other pollinators cannot get the pollen from the male flowers to the female flowers as a result.

Good stuff. Some gardeners even put clothespins over the ends of the closed flowers, to keep them closed until they hand-pollinate. That allows control over the genetics of the seeds produced, which matters if you're heirloom gardening. I haven't got that complicated yet :P
