I am navigating Market Noise. Why Asset Allocation and Consistent ETF Buying Win Over Daily News?

Hey guys, how's it going? So, the S&P 500 went up by 0.94% today, and the Nasdaq also saw a 0.45% bump. But if you look at the macro stuff, it's pretty chaotic right now. The US and Iran are still at each other's throats, which is keeping oil prices stuck at high levels. Around 17 million barrels of crude oil passed through the Strait of Hormuz on Monday alone. I also heard Iran laid mines, and a couple of oil tankers actually took damage. Brent crude is just refusing to drop below 95.12.

On the flip side, the US 10-year Treasury yield dropped by 1bp to 4.7%. The 30-year yield is sitting at 5.24%, and honestly, it gives a bit of relief knowing rates might have hit a ceiling. Bond yields in Germany, the UK, and Japan also went down, which helped stabilize the financial markets overall. Stocks and gold are both climbing right now. Some people are saying we don't need to stress over bond yields like we did back in 2022.

The recent drop in bond prices was partly due to employment data dipping from 39,000 to 38,000, signaling a cooling labor market, which ironically helps stabilize interest rates.
Tech-wise, Dell shot up 16% after earnings, mostly because data center construction is boosting economic growth. Broadcom also reported insane numbers—revenue up 92% and operating profit up over 90% compared to last year. But get this, their stock actually dropped after the announcement because the guidance just met expectations, leading to some disappointment sell-offs.

Honestly, trying to keep up with daily news like this just leads to serious fatigue. The most fundamental strategy is setting your portfolio allocation percentages and sticking to them blindly. I truly believe that consistently buying and accumulating ETFs every payday and on days when the market dips is the only real way to safely grow your retirement assets.
