Sometimes all you need is a boring lunch break and a drone

Some lunch breaks are more inspiring than others.

This one wasn't.

I was working for a client on an industrial estate at the time, and there wasn't exactly a stunning landscape waiting outside the office. Some company buildings, roads, parking lots... you know, the sort of environment that makes you think "damn, I really should have brought my camera" approximately... well... never.

But I did have my DJI Mini 3 Pro with me (as almost always...).

And there happened to be a small sailing club nearby.

So... up we go.

Funny how quickly a rather boring place changes when you look straight down at it. Suddenly those few little boats and floating pontoons weren't really boats and pontoons anymore, but lines, shapes and colours on a huge green canvas.

Especially that one red boat, which apparently had decided it was going to be the star of the show whether I agreed or not.

That's probably still one of the things I like most about drones. You don't necessarily need spectacular mountains, castles or Icelandic waterfalls.

Sometimes you just need to look at something ordinary from a completely different angle.

And apparently a boring industrial-estate lunch break and a few sailing boats will do just fine.
