A video like this requires somewhat of a lengthy description: While this is a deeply personal story, it is better to imagine the things you hear and see as, what novels call— a Roman A Clef: Some elements have been fictionalized to both protect people and advance plot. For example, I must say I like Dakota’s girlfriend a great deal, she’s an amazingly kind person. In reality they have a very healthy strong relationship and I would never want to see that jeopardized. They are both amazing people and I hope there’s many more years to come between the two. The dialogue where he references His SO is constructed and drawn from an entirely different friend of mine’s experience, but it advances the overall plot so I used it. I hope you understand.

But, indeed this is what so intensely fascinates me about creative non-fiction: the ability say 'large T' truth, while manipulating the more base and minor details of life.
