InLeo and The 1000 True Fans Theory

The 1000 True Fans Theory
In a 2008 article, Kevin Kelly hypothesized that an artist can be supported by 1000 true fans. Not just subscribers or listeners, but real people who adopt the brand into their lifestyle. InLeo is the perfect example of this. Thousands of people navigate this platform, and they will be the catalyst for onboarding the mass social and crypto audiences.

Anyone who can get 1000 active fans with a decent stake on Hive could do pretty well. The great thing is that the fans would earn too.

But what I'm I doing with over 1,000 followers on hive? Are they not fans?
Do they all vote on your posts? A lot of followers will be bots or people hoping you follow back. I have nearly 7000, but most are inactive.

I gathered these numbers from the days of STeem. A lot of them didn't move to Hive.

With 3035 followers, getting to 1000 fans would be quite something - best I can do is up to around 150 fans with the help of a few curator friends.
1,000 true fans is a bookmark on my computer and actually a physical article that I have printed and keep in my office
It's a daily reminder that it doesn't take millions of people to make a difference. 1,000 true fans are all you need

Fans sounds like the many that follow the celebrity or the team.
I like to think about it as ambassadors.
There's a bunch of long-term #hive ambassadors around here who are building and contributing to this ecosystem beacause it benefits us all, not just the artist.

I wonder if anyone on Hive has 1000 active followers?
If you had 1000 active followers and ten 100% upvotes, I guess you would have to drop the percentage down to reward them all within 7 days. But I think it’s possible.
I guess 1000 fans divided by 7 is the starting point, that’s about 150 upvotes per day, so if you have ten 100% votes, twenty 50%, forty 25% votes, eighty 12.5 % votes and 160 6.25% votes, you could technically reward each one of your 1000 Fans each week. And if you start with a lot of HivePower the rewards should be more than dust rewards. You would have a lot of manual curation, but with a team of ten curators would only need to upvote 15 comments per curator per day to get it done.
You don't necessarily have to vote up all your fans. They will earn from curating your posts and can use the rest of their votes on other people.
