How many total bottlenose dolphins live in all seas and oceans is not known for certain, but there is evidence that there are at least 67,000 individuals in the Gulf of Mexico, about 35,000 in the northwestern part of the Pacific Ocean, about 7 thousand individuals. Bottlenose dolphins are listed in the Red Book of the International Union for Conservation of Nature and in the Red Book of Russia.
