SMSdroid: Proposing Lock message feature to be added to the App

SMSdroid is an open source messaging application. It is designed to be light and fast in reading and sending text messages. It is a special messaging app that lets users send message with any other messaging app.

Proposal

I am proposing the addition of Lock message feature to SMSdroid, as this will enhance the privacy of the application in the sense that specific messages can be locked and access restricted to intruders except given by the owner.

Benefits

Lock message feature marks the message to prevent it from being deleted accidentally. Adding a lock feature goes a long way to ensure that messages are not erroneously deleted. For instance if you lock a single message in a thread and eventually have reasons to delete the entire thread, the locked message shouldn't be deleted along with the entire thread because it is locked, except a user has cause to delete the locked message, in which event a dialogue box will pop-up asking for confirmation before deletion.
This feature will help users to secure their important messages by preventing the messages from being deleted accidentally.
It will also enhance the use of the app as users will be comfortable to chose the app as their default messaging app.
