Cultism: How intoxicating can it be?

Happy New year to all steemians, glad we made it. Unfortunately, Kola lost his on New Year’s eve.

I wonder if cultism is as rampant in developed countries as it is here over here in Africa?

How powerful do you feel when you’re known as a cultist? Does it feel that good? I’d really love to know; you probably feel like the man of steel. Did Kola feel this way when he became a member of the notorious gang.

Kola and I had already decided to meet up and head to church for the crossover night, we were heading right into 2018. I remember the previous night we talked about some of the things we were going to change and do the next year; “I was going to be more active on steemit” I said to him, I want to be just like @samstickkz and @tojukaka. Meanwhile he was excited about getting a new laptop; a MacBook Pro. I bet he didn’t see it coming, how could he? It was a festive season, who would want to harm anyone in this festive season?

The above thoughts ran through my mind when I saw his corpse lying there with a hole in his head and several other holes in his body. My Kola is gone! I had no idea what happened, I had gone to church for the crossover without him after I tried to reach him severally. Why did the year have to start like this?

There’s really a need for the awareness, the youths need to know cultism doesn’t pay. Some say they were pressurized into it; I personally understand what they mean when they say they were pressurized. I’ve been in situations where I was intimidated and my things taken from me. Kola always came to my rescue; I would get back my things the following day.

I end this with tears, is he in a better place? I’m reminded of the man who was killed a day to his wedding. The rumor was he was a deadly cultist who had fled and stayed out of the country for 10 years. He still came back and was killed a day to his wedding.

So I ask again, how powerful do you feel when you become a cultist? How intoxicating is the power? Is it worth it?
