Scored Some Chaos Rising Packs!
My wife and I took the kids to the fair on Tuesday to see Skillet. They're obsessed, especially with their songs "Invincible" and "Monster." I don't blame them since my wife and I both grew up listening to them, and we our boys to experience them live like we did a few years back.
I recently got back into collecting Pokémon cards, mainly for the nostalgia factor. I stopped playing the games after Diamond/Pearl, but I've always enjoyed the card game. I haven't battled with a deck since high school, but collecting the cards for the artwork is a lot of fun.
The only issue I'm finding is that a lot of people with no regular employment have become a scourge on the hobby. Between camping out at vending machines, retail stores and using bots and maxed out credit cards to scoop up online sales, it seems nearly impossible to find a pack of cards under 5, so imagine my shock when I saw a gaming tent at the fair with actual packs. I figured they were probably insanely priced but asked anyway. They had Chaos Rising packs for 7.95 online. They only had two packs left, so I asked if they had any more. The lady was nice enough to go look and came out with a sealed box of 36 packs. I was pleasantly surprised, to say the least. A group of kids came in behind me and saw the cards, so when the lady asked how many I wanted I told her 10, so there'd be plenty left for anyone else.
I can't wait to open a few packs myself and watch my boys have the experience of opening them and seeing what they get. I'll have to do a follow-up post with pictures of what we pulled. They've been anxiously waiting, so we'll probably open them up tonight. I can't wait to see the look on their faces!

I went to see Skillet a few times. Saw them in 1997 or 1998 with my church youth group 🤣. I was still a couple years before high school. They were just a Christian rock band at time and had signed to a bigger more mainstream label (Atlantic) after POD blew up, there label Atlantic wanted more christian metal bands that had been ignored by mainstream. They signed like 10 bands from that scene just off POD suggesting them. Skillet the most successful for sure. I saw them in NYC a decade or less ago or so with the creed guys other band with different singer co headlining, Alter bridge I think was the name? Skillet Is def a throwback for me. It’s always fun seeing a band a few years before most people discover em! Funny enough Switchfoot opened up for them and they blew up like 7 years later.

They sell at rrp mainly which is nice.
Though i tried getting the PalWorld ones but scalpers got there first
You'd think they'd just do DoorDash or something rather than camp in front of stores and vending machines all day.
