G+ refugee
I live offgrid in the Dominican Republic - farming cacao, bananas, and avocados mostly - but really I am just retired. I was a chemical engineer in the environmental consulting business until 2001, when my wife and I went sailboat cruising for several years. Along the way, we stopped a couple of places to teach school. I enjoy reading about nature, science, economics, artificial intelligence, and philosophy. I use a laptop with Ubuntu, and an Amazon tablet. I have two dogs and a pickup truck. My wife and I have a project at https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/el-barco if you are into that sort of thing - birds, bugs, trees, weeds. This is our cruising sailboat - now a guest house on the farm: (picture is old)

Oh wauw living offgrid is something I also wanted to do. My roof full of sunpanels and some vawts feeding batteries is my dream. But my bitcoinminers need a little more. I have a heatingsystem on wood what I get free from several company's.
