To Unregister or Not, Think...Jury Nullification

I was in the process of typing a letter to my county clerk to unregister to vote, when I saw a Steemit post from Adam Kokesh. I forgot he was running as a Libertarian candidate and his sole goal, if elected, is to dismantle the federal government. While I agree with his platform, is he really going to win? Will our selections, I mean elections, allow someone like Adam to win? I think not. However, I will enjoy putting a tick next to his name come election time. It did get me thinking though...

I think being registered to vote has some advantages. You are able to go down vote a law you think is unjust and most importantly, you can get a jury summons. Being on a jury is the perfect way to invoke your power in a process called jury nullification. We do not have to lock up our fellow citizens due to unjust and immoral laws. It is the perfect way to stick it to the legislatures that feel caging people is somehow ok.

Needless to say, I deleted the letter. I'll stay registered.
