Mosaic - 1. To start off
Perhaps there is no image better to start off with than the setting sun in the distant background, sinking into the skyline of New York City. The sky just overhead is slowly fading into the blackness of night and the city lights are just beginning to glow. It's a city I've lived in all my life, but this view of it is perfect, it reflects how distant I feel from it. Then again, that's the situation I find myself in when it comes to the world in general. That's what I see when I look at the world, a mystery that I can't quite find my place in. Then again, isn't this the natural state of humanity? Or just being in general. Sometimes I wonder about that, since I often see plenty of people who seem to just fit, to take the grand labyrinth that is the world and navigate it as if they had a map. Or maybe they haven't solved it, they made their home in it and are satisfied with that. Some of us aren't so lucky. We are forced to wander, searching for some unknown thing through this grand maze. Isn't it interesting how "wander" and "wonder" are so similar in structure?
The point of this whole spiel is to basically say I'm one who can't help but wonder. It's this which has driven me towards a love of wisdom (philosophy) and ultimately a deep appreciation for spirituality as a whole. My interest bounce about many things from moral theory to political banter (seems to be what all the cool kids are doing) and general discussions on social matters. I'm also aspiring to be a published author, right now focusing more on short stories. That being said, I can't actually give a detailed idea of what I'll be writing about. It's best to see this as a mosaic (hence the name) each piece different, an image all its own, pieced together into some (hopefully grand) work that even I don't fully understand.
