Wings of Freedom

Wings could set me free
I wait in this shadow of my life that used to be

I seek to fly like the angels above
My heart waivers sometimes but only knows love
They may pluck away, destroying my essence

I will remain strong grow through the pain
Maybe one day I will be a reminder, a cautious tale, a lesson

Do not follow my ways because they are all I know
I am misguided, blinded by those who seek to overthrow
I will remain myself at the core, even if I cannot take this anymore
