Didn’t realize I was a Buddhist until I turned 40 and started doing strange things like caring for this planet that we live in and the people in it. It is weird that for some of us it takes some catastrophic or life changing event in our own life to make us care about other people besides ourselves. For me it might have been mid-life crisis. Who knows. I just woke up one day and decided to be a better person. I use to think that I was the center of it all and what I was doing was actually going to change the world. Always in a hurry to get somewhere or to the next meeting, never thinking of the consequences of my actions. You see it everyday driving to work when someone cuts you off because he/she was too impatient to drive behind a slower car. I usually leave a safe distance between me and the car in front. So, I guess it is my action of leaving a gap between the car in front that compels someone to cut me off. In that case, I only have myself to blame. Those kinda stuff used to piss me off a lot, but the kinder and gentler me today has learn to let it go. Has that ever happen to you? If so, learn to let it go because if you don’t, this singular event can ruin your whole day. You will feel better if you just learn to let go. When you let go, you create space for better things to enter your life.
