Footprints We Leave

The footprints we leave

Can show people the way

But is it the way to doom

Or directions to redemption 

Footprints our parents left

In all of us as children

To carry on the torch

To pass on to ours

Footprints we live in our works

For people to learn

For them to develop

For the world to improve

We walk roads to darkness

Leaving directions for people

But when we walk the path of joy,

Do we leave trails for other to follow? 

Footprints we leave in wars

For generations to continue

In peaceful resolutions 

For a better future

Why do we leave prints of hate

Footprints of discord,  of dissonance 

Why can't we leave prints of love?

The perfect prints in our hearts.
