Nvidia enters the Trading Card Game!
I know this isn't exactly "Mindful AI" but since Nvidia is synonymous with AI these days I figured it would fit in this community. If not please feel free to delete this post from the "The Mindful AI" community.

Okay with that out of the way let's get into the nitty gritty details shall we?
Story Time
- There is a Trading Card Convention in a massive theatre hall and on the main stage there is just a red curtain. What is hiding behind the curtain? We will find out soon enough!
-
The red curtain on the stage slowly start to retreat into the ceiling.
-
A 'being' emerges behind the curtain and starts to walk up to the front of the stage..
- The audience start to gasp in anticipation, surely this can't be who they think it is, SURELY RIGHT?!?!
Now remember all these imaginary people in the crowd are hard core TCG people who grew up chasing the Base Set Charizard or that Black Lotus. They are not a safvory bunch of people or ones you want to run into in the back alley somewhere holding a Booster Box of Trading Cards..
- The 'being' that was revealed is a Humanoid Robot! And everyone starts to take their phones out to start recording this monumental event!
-
It was at that exact moment that a low rumble started to be heard coming from the robot on stage! WHAT COULD IT MEAN?
-
And then in a blink of an eye, all the banners were instantly changed!
- The entire theatre errupted into an applause and cheers! All these middle age men were almost to tears as they knew exactly what was happening...
-
"That's Right Ladies and Gentlmen" says the robot on stage!
-
"Nvidia is not just the leader in AI, GPUs, Tokens. We are also getting into the Trading Card Game because we are money hungry and know you are all stupid enough to spend way too much money on little pieces of colored cardboard!".
-
Nobody in the crowd could understand what he was saying over the commonotion and their excitement as he held up some of the trading cards to show the audience!
Story Time is over, and now to the actual news!
Nvidia is releasing their own Trading Cards
You read that right. Nvidia, the leader in AI and GPUs in the world. The most valuable company in the world worth over $5,000,000,000. They have created their own Trading Cards. And I am honestly a little speechless to be honest.
You can read their announcement here: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/news/geforce-trading-cards-series-1-summer-of-rtx-giveaways/
I gotta say though, Nvidia does sure know how to make a splash!
The Card Designs
It has surprisingly been pretty hard to find out more information about the specific cards in the Series. On Nvidia's launchpage, they state that they are:
To celebrate these moments, NVIDIA is introducing our first series of GeForce Trading Cards, a free collection featuring 14 possible designs showcasing some of GeForce PC gaming’s great moments. From iconic GPUs, memorable demos, classic games, and callbacks to key moments in history for GeForce fans.
From what I have been able to read online, it seems like every card back is this Black PCB design with the GeForce RTX logo on it.
To me that looks like it would be Nvidia's Employees Company Credit Card... and now I kind of want one haha
The 14 designs in the Series 1 collection include:
- NV1: The blueprint. Launched in 1995, NV1 was NVIDIA’s first mainstream multimedia processor, combining support for joystick, audio, VGA, 2D and 3D. It marked an early starting point for the company’s work in PC graphics.
- GeForce 256: The world’s first GPU. Introduced in 1999, GeForce 256 helped define the GPU by bringing transform, lighting and rendering onto a single chip, shifting more graphics work from the CPU to dedicated graphics hardware.
- GeForce 3: The first GPU with Programmable Shaders. Powered by the nFiniteFX Engine, GeForce 3 helped bring programmable vertex and pixel shaders to GeForce gamers, giving developers more control over lighting, materials, surfaces and real-time visual effects.
- GeForce 7800 GTX: Full-Throttle Graphics. A flagship from the mid-2000s PC gaming boom, GeForce 7800 GTX represented the GeForce 7 Series era, with advances including CineFX 4.0, Shader Model 3.0 support and high dynamic range rendering.
- GeForce 10 Series: 10: Gaming Perfected. Powered by the Pascal architecture, GeForce GTX 1080 became a memorable enthusiast upgrade, bringing a major leap in performance and efficiency to high-resolution gaming and VR experiences.
- Bubble, Tech Demo: Classic real-time demos. NVIDIA demos have long shown what new GeForce hardware could render in real time, from reflective environments to programmable shader effects and detailed character showcases.
- Chameleon Tech Demo: Classic real-time demos. NVIDIA demos have long shown what new GeForce hardware could render in real time, from reflective environments to programmable shader effects and detailed character showcases.
- Medusa, Tech Demo: Classic real-time demos. NVIDIA demos have long shown what new GeForce hardware could render in real time, from reflective environments to programmable shader effects and detailed character showcases.
- The Way It’s Meant To Be Played (Unreal Tournament 2004): A GeForce gaming signature. Series 1 nods to the long-running NVIDIA gaming program through cards inspired by Unreal Tournament 2004 and Borderlands, two PC favorites from different eras of GeForce gaming.
- The Way It’s Meant To Be Played (Borderlands): A GeForce gaming signature. Series 1 nods to the long-running NVIDIA gaming program through cards inspired by Unreal Tournament 2004 and Borderlands, two PC favorites from different eras of GeForce gaming.
- GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Cyberpunk 2077 Edition: Night City goes #RTXON. This special-edition design connects the RTX era with Night City, cybernetic style and one of PC gaming’s most recognizable visual worlds.
- Checklist card: A nod to collector culture. A simple tracker for fans who want to follow the Series 1 lineup and the history each card represents.
(that doesn't up to 14 now does it? yeah annoying)
It has been hard for me to find a clean table showing all the card designs. So the best I can do is piece together photos that have been published so far.
Here is a image from Nvidia:
Here is a post from Jacob Freeman yesterday on his collection so far.
I do like how the front of the cards are Serialized so you know how many you have and what order the go in.
And that PCIe pin connector reminds me a whole lot like a different Trading Card Game from back in the day... and I'm not mad about it.
Although 1 thing I am mad about is that the cards are numbered 1-11 but there are 14 total cards. Granted 1 of the 14 cards is the "Checklist Card", so let's say 13 cards.
- NV1 (1995 multimedia processor)
- GeForce 256 (1999, world's first GPU)
- GeForce 3 (first GPU with programmable shaders)
- GeForce 7800 GTX (2005 flagship)
- GeForce 10 Series (Pascal architecture)
- Bubble tech demo
- Chameleon tech demo
- Medusa tech demo
- "The Way It's Meant To Be Played" card (featuring Unreal Tournament 2004)
- "The Way It's Meant To Be Played" card (featuring Borderlands)
- GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Cyberpunk 2077 Edition
- Checklist card for tracking the collection
Yeah, still not 14 or 11 cards but whatever.
What Do They Cost???
When you think of Nvidia you probably think of it in a similiar light of Apple. You pay a premium for the brand. But the brand usually delivers high quality products. Well it shocked me when I found out that Nvidia was NOT selling these Trading Card Packs. I thought for sure they would be in the 'Gear Store' at Nvidia's HQ next time I visited or at the next Nvidia GTC conference.
But nope, Nvidia is giving these packs of cards away for FREE. You can read the full details HERE.
But to save you the trouble I will link all their Social Media links as well!
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NVIDIAGeForce
X / Twitter: https://twitter.com/NVIDIAGeForce
Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nvidiageforce/
TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@nvidiageforce
Twitch: https://twitch.tv/nvidia
So all you have to do is follow Nvidia's GeForce account on their various social medias and interact when they tell you to and you could win a pack for yourself! They also are giving some away at live events!

You can read the "Summer of RTX 2060 Contest - Official Rules" HERE
You can read the "Summer of RTX 2026 Sweepstakes - Official Rules" HERE
And I know what you are thinking.. If Nvidia is giving these packs of cards away and I can't enter the giveaway or don't have time or some other BS excuse, and you want to buy them on the secondary market. I think you need to really rethink your life if you decide to go down that path. On eBay at the time of writing there has only been 2 packs of the cards that have been sold (with 1 more auction listing live) and they are STUPID EXPENSIVE..
So get out there and... "Catch Them All" or something like that I think!

Gizmodo deserves a award for the best article title in regard to these Nvidia Trading Cards
