Simply write a poem, that’s the only rule,
Can be about anything you wish,
Just as long as it’s your own work,
Any style, any size,
All the proceeds made from this post,
Will be the prize.
Going from my previous posts that’s not a lot,
But you never know,
This time round might be a bigger pot.

How Wonderful To Be Retired

How wonderful to be retired,
A stage of life that is much desired
By many who at sixty-six
Need some other kind of fix
Than plodding on the treadmill,
Day in, day out ... no thrill!
Alarm clock smashed,
Work clothes trashed,
No worries in the world.
Garden umbrella unfurled.
A life of leisure,
Oh, what pleasure!
How wonderful to be retired.
(At least I wasn't fired!)
Gardening to keep physically fit,
And mental exercise with steemit!
What better way to spend the day
(And steemit comes with pay!).
No more daily grind.
Just peace of mind,
And time to be inspired.

Looking into the Eyes
Look into the eyes of any person
tell me what you see or is it hard son?
Do you see a tag, a brand or a name?
Do you see some lag, some stand or a game?
Is it a title, a profession or a degree?
Is it not a human what you see?
Is it a liar, a criminal or a thief?
A very human begging for relief
Do you see luxury, fortune and fame?
Do you see guilt and dishonor there to blame?
Do you see someone who struggles trying to be?
Or someone fighting to be free?
Do you see pain, suffering and grief?
Or what you see reflexes your belief?
Is it so hard to see God, my dear son
every time you look into the eyes of any person?
