We all love a good life, and your ability to take care of your health, goes a long way to bring that awesome dream to reality.

The importance of having fruits and veggies in your diet cannot be overemphasized. This class of food helps supply the body with essential nutrients required for the daily activities that go on in the body.

Today, I am going to introduce an amazing starchy fruit.

The cooking bananas, also known as plantains, are rich sources of iron, vitamin B6, vitamin C, magnesium and potassium.

Iron is very important in the production of blood.

Vitamin B6 helps in metabolism and red blood cell production. People, who take alcohol, increase their chances having inadequate vitamin B6.

Vitamin C helps in growth and repair of body tissues, as well as boosting of the immune system.

Magnesium helps in the proper functioning of nerves and muscle tissues. It also helps regulate blood glucose.

Potassium is a very important nutrient that helps maintain the balance of water in the body, adequate functioning of the heart, a healthy nervous system and also strong and healthy muscles.

Plantains are a major staple food in Nigeria, where they are eaten fried (known locally as Dodo), roasted (Boli) or Boiled.

Plantains are available all year round, making them a reliable all-season staple food.

Every lover of tasty meals should love plantains.
