Collecting Paintings for fun

Last evening after work i went to a shopping mall to have some dinner and walk around afterwards.
I bumped into an event where the were auctioning some nice paintings to the public.

The interesting thing was that these public people were just normal people who don't have any understanding of art and that can be seen on the auction, as there wasn't really an auction because many paintings went for the minimum bidding price.

This beautiful painting is a painting of the Lijiang River in China where i visited recently in Guilin. Many paintings went for minimum bidding, but this one happen to have a few interested people but weren't willing to pay what i paid for it. I ended up paying RMB500 which is USD78.

I managed to obtain 2 really beautiful paintings for a low price, so i'm really happy with it!
in the future i'm gonna keep an eye open for these kind of events. They're perfect to use as gifts for the price they're going!
