My First Cycling Experience

"I remember the first time I tried to cycling . My family and I traveled to the village for a Christmas vacation, and I kept talking non-stop about how I should be able to cycle before the end of our stay in the village. Two days after we arrived, I couldn't hold the excitement anymore, so I ran to my dad and pleaded to let me take my grandpa's bike. My dad agreed and also volunteered to teach me.

I got on the bike cycle, but my leg couldn't reach the pedals because it was not a kiddie bike. So I had to stand on it while my dad held it from the back for support. I felt on top of the world, but when my dad jokingly told me that he was going to let go and make me ride on my own, the fear on my face could literally be seen, and I burst into tears, begging my dad to hold onto the bike. Everyone around couldn't hold back their laughter, including my dad . They all mocked me, saying I couldn't even handle the bike that I was so eager to learn. I covered it up by saying, "It's because this is my first time; you all should watch and see, by the time I'm done, I would be a pro" .

Unknowingly to me, the next day of practice would be worse. As usual, after our morning chores and eating breakfast, we took the bike cycle again, and we headed to a sloping road this time so that the bike could move freely without having to pedal much. It wasn't up to five minutes when my dad's hands slipped, and he let go of the bike. I crashed into a nearby bush and fell off the bike, luckily sustaining only a minor injury.

But that didn't stop me from wanting to learn. The only problem was my mom; she quarreled with my dad for approving me in the first place and also said that I shouldn't go near the bike until we left the village. I was so heartbroken, but there was nothing I could do about it. Someday, I wish to learn again."
