Can Humans have sex with ghosts?

Ancient humans had sex with non- humans

According to a story going around on the interwebs, supposedly humans had sex with non human species.

 According to a study conducted by Omer Gokcumen, an assistant professor of biological sciences at the University of Buffalo, ancient humans had intercourse with a "ghost species" of "proto human".Gokcumen explains that humans are only one member of a broader species named "hominins".The research found that humans had sex with other members of the hominins group. 

The research found "wildly different" DNA genes in people living in Sub-Saharan Africa. Dating back to as long as 150,000 years ago.

This other species know to the scientist community as "ghost species" as their are no know fossils to be analyzed.

Furthermore it's noted that is was not a rare case-- and this was actually the "norm". 

This definalty sounds like something from a SCI-FI movie, but it's actually true. Have you ever heard of anything like this before?
