I had some unexpected company on my morning walk

I woke up hungry; I must not have eaten enough protein last night. So instead of drinking half a litre of slightly salted water, I drank a few mouth fulls and then headed outside to put my feet on the earth.

Grounding.

It's good stuff.

Rather than spend a lot of time out in the pre-UVA morning light, ripping weeds out of the garden, I headed back inside to eat.

Protein-loaded porridge.

This is good stuff!

Then it was time for a walk. And by walk, I don't mean fast, vigorous walking. I mean a stroll. I need exercise, for sure. But I got that yesterday morning when I did a drill workout that saw me cover 2.6 km (ish) in 26 minutes (ish) with a top end speed of 3:20 mins per km (ish!).

Today, I needed to walk and I could feel why the moment I started up just the beginning of the hill near our place!

Thankfully, I got a welcome distraction along the way. I had an Australian Magpie down to my left, on the ground, happily singing as I approached it. Then, to my surprise, another flew in front of me and landed on my right side, in the fence.

It joined its buddy in looking at me with curiosity and no obvious hostility. They were less than a metre away from me, one on each side. And as I passed through my tiny welcoming party, I was sung farewell with more of their carolling.

Australia Magpies.

Good stuff :)

(Photo by me. No creatures, including myself, were hurt in the process of capturing this moment.)
