Iggy & the Stooges June 13, 1970

Some artists just aren't for casual fans. That might've included Iggy & the Stooges back in 1970, as one middle-aged Jack Lescoulie's coverage of band's Cincinnati concert — which, of course, included a shirtless Iggy shaking his ass all over the stage, then depositing himself in the crowd at various points throughout the two songs — who couldn't quite seem to get a handle on the singer's stage antics, incredulously calling the play-by-play of Pop's crowd-surfing attempts. His disbelieving "That's peanut butter!" exclamation once Iggy starts smearing himself with the stuff is probably what inspired the Quincy punk episode a decade or so later.
