A trip to the Dead sea

The Dead Sea, a lake rather than in fact a sea, straddles the border of Jordan and Israel. It's the lowest point on earth.
As steeped in religious tradition as it is salty, the Dead Sea is allegedly the spot where King David sought safety from King Saul, where Abraham struggled a warfare, where Ezekiel had prophecy and, only to the north, in a brand new water river, John apparently baptised Jesus. A rich aqua marine color at its depths, the Dead Sea waters blur to emerald at its borders.

The shores are full of salt crystals, lining up like nervous bathers only daring to drop their toes in the water's brink. There are a series of seashore resorts skirting the coast road.
The Amman Beach Resort is a large complex with just a restaurant - the buffet was advantageous , although most of that declaration is situated on the dessert - just a few pools, as well as a somewhat dingy beach. At the nigh-on 45 degrees in mid-August heat nothing would have been less welcome than caking themselves in stinking gloopy mud along with floating, hippopotamus like in the stagnant, milky, hot waters of this property locked bath.

Any cuts or mosquito bites may smart, any water in the eyes may sting and any hope of the nice swim might need to be earmarked for the crammed pools above.
In a nutshell, the Dead Sea encounter was officially gross, but hilarious in nearly equal measure. The waters were littered with visitors attempting to replicate the iconic connection with reading the newspaper while bathing, and the beach was dotted with mudded-up sunbathers who looked like they were attempting to create bad taste comedy.

While this isn't an experience fundamentally to be re tried, it's one to be completely embraced, the very first time around. Walk up the fragrant, pine lined path to the mountain's top, where there's a church, an old mosaic of the hunting scenes, an extremely intriguing visitor center and a rock monument describing that this is the place where God Apparently first showed Moses the Promised Land, some years before Moses died along with was buried nearby.
