I feel your concern. It is tough in the beginning. The problem for newbies is that they have no reach. it is like going to Facebook, having zero friends and expecting tons of likes.
But you do it right: write great comments and lure the authors to your profile like you did with me. ;)
That's my view on Steemit in a dummy fast food song :D
The lack of in-depth conversation is almost painful here. But that gave me initial motivation and plentiful of ideas for my own blockchain project some day.

That is just your subjective experience as a new user. I don't have that problem at all as a more senior Steemian. You are just here for a few weeks and still need to find your network. Steem is a bigger revolution than the internet itself but Steemit sucks. Don't confuse the two with each other.
