How do you find your friends on Steemit?

My friend and i are just trying to find eachother's profiles and it's proving to be more difficult than one might expect.

I’m really frustrated. I can’t seem to add a friend or even find his post. I’m not sure I will even bother anymore. Their search needs some serious work
