Vertu sell off

Vertu, a British supermarket cell phone maker, has announced that it is selling its entire collection of handsets produced between 2002 and 2015. A total of 105 models will be auctioned.

Some of the phones are non-functional models, others are decorated with gold, titanium and precious stones. The auction will also feature a series of 37 Vertu Constellation Ayxta sets with a starting price of £ 2,150

Vertu sells the entire collection, not individual phones. Bidding starts at £ 20,000 ($ 43,129), which is believed to be a bit, given the fact that some of the machines cost £ 20,000.

Vertu announced bankruptcy in mid-July after failing to cover its debts of £ 165 million ($ 356 million). The current owner of the company - Turkish businessman Murat Hakan Uzan, who lives in Paris, tried unsuccessfully to redeem it from creditors by offering £ 1.9m (£ 4.1m) to the Supreme Court. Uzan bought the company in March for £ 50 million MJ Luxury Vertu Signature S-Design Exotic Leather - Mix 1A_2.jpg
