Hello world!
Hello Hive! I'll make the intro quick and let some pictures do the talking. I manage a team of IT systems engineers by day, but for this post I'll highlight a few of my outside interests.
I enjoy "chasing" satellites that downlink data in the amateur radio frequency spectrum as part of the SatNOGS project (I'll dedicate a post to this later). I also do some development on the software for this project when time allows, and always happy to talk about it..
I tinker with electronics, microcontrollers, single-board computers, and most of the whole 'maker' movement. (in this pic I'm prepping to re-solder a voltage regulator on a 2012 macbook motherboard, from a common fault with that specific design. Thankfully the fix worked!)
My boys and I love getting outside and are pretty active in a local scout troop. Camping, backpacking, and getting out on the lake to paddle a bit are all things I love.
I'll stop there for now - I'll likely post about these and related topics, and would love to engage with others who have similar interests - so follow for more!

The upvote calculator shows the upvote value of a given amount of HIVE POWER. You have 94 HP. Your upvote is worth $0.001 . A tenth of penny.
Each upvote consumes 2% of your voting power. Voting power regenerates at 20% a day. So, people usually drop 10 upvotes a day.
If you dropped 10 upvotes a day; you would distribute one penny in rewards. Hurray! If you dropped 10 upvotes every day for a year, you would distribute $3.65. That is good interest on your investment in HIVE.
You get the rewards seven days after a post.
Posts only get rewards for the first seven days. Never upvote posts older than 7 days.
Anyway, people love getting upvotes. So the best way to promote your account is to find posts you like and upvote them.
Don't upvote comments. HIVE wipes away rewards less that 0.001. The comment won't get the $0.001 value of your upvote.
The best time to upvote is 5 minutes after the post was written. I go to the created page and upvote the posts that are older than 5 minutes old.

Another good strategy is to join a community and upvote the posts in the community.

Welcome C to the Hive movement and blockchain. You will have fun blogging and vlogging I promise. But in the beginning it’s hard and new and maybe you need help.
