I hate pandering

I really hate pandering. I think it dilutes content, and creates a boring echo chamber.

That's why I'm writing this post to pander to the crowd that hates pandering!

But to be honest, I've always really disliked that pandering, kissing up, "pretend to be nice to eachother" kind of attitude that I see so many people have.

I think there's a specific reason why we see it so much, and why it's the enemy of best.

Pandering/kissing up looks good for a little bit, at work, at school, with friends, it gives one another acceptance and affirmation, even though it's hollow and false. Good is the enemy of the best. And best, I propose, is honest.

In fact, we even see celebrities and politicians pandering all the time. But I tend to see celebrities as 1-in-a-million accidents.

Look at all the hard-working, financially successful people everywhere, the millionaires. You'll notice they rarely pander.

Average people kiss-up to these decently successful people all the time in hopes of obtaining jobs, gifts, social status...etc. But I think it's all for naught. With a little dedication to one's own niche, you could be that decently successful person that others kiss up to. But you're too busy kissing up and hoping for crumbs.

I'm not some super successful business guy telling you about his new 5 step formula. I'm a hard-working, decently successful 21 year old with a few of my own businesses and a little bit of financial breathing room. I wouldn't be here with pandering.

And I can't get where I want to go, by pandering either.

So, work on your own niche. Tell the truth. Be blunt. The world may not thank you right away, but you will thank yourself down the road.
