Proverb says knowledge is the beginning of wisdom.
Wise leaders must know the generational distinction of individuals they lead.
A recent trends see older generations retaining ministry leadership positions longer-some builders and boosters for financial reasons, some boomers out of unwillingness to give up authority they worked so hard to achieve.
The generational tendency of boomer pastor to view ministry as personal quest for excellence. Boomer leaders, however, cannot expect a similar view from their younger staff members. A buster or Mosaic approach to ministry will be more likely focus on innovative solutions to meet needs.
Boomer leaders should aim to supervise buster and mosaics in ways that will capitalize on their strengths, such as self reliance, confidence and creativity.
