Change, 8.27.21
The months are changing, the weather is still insanely hot, and school has started. My days have changed, busier than ever, and I can't seem to get the time to relax. My brothers are moving onto bigger things and leaving the nest, so to speak. One of them still has another year to go before graduation, but the other... Wow. He's already a sophomore in college. The days back when I was seven and he was eleven feels like yesterday.
You hear it all the time, but it sure is true. "Change is scary but necessary". Learning how to drive, preparing for the future, and possibly getting out there to get a job are just a few of the things I'm working towards. I must confess, I'm preparing myself for the unknown. Trying my hardest to get my academics out of the way by doing classes worth college credits, though I don't know what I'll do with them. Do I really want to go to college? For what? What major? What career do I want to do for the rest of my life? So many questions while the world keeps on turning, leaving me behind.

I feel you on a lot of levels. I think the best part of what happened in my situation was that years later I got a really lackluster “you were right. I oughta let you do your thing.” So now, I do my thing unequivocally. I still don’t drive yet.
Oh man, I hope my "own thing" makes me happy, ykno? (Like sorry Jacob), but he think of himself as successful, but he's not happy with it. And that just sounds horrible to me. Thankfully he has time to do anything he wants to, but jeez. Imagine, 10 years in and its just a career you despise.
