I meant for addicts in recovery 😊 Their early days are tough! And they avoid anything to do with addiction. Even places and social circles they partied with.

It's recommended by every treatment facility to try and keep them on track!

I did look for a recovery community when I first got here actually... it may attract folks because people in recovery tend to trust each other because of walking similar journeys and principles. It's kind of a "club" if you will :)

It's not for the faint of heart. Walking through life totally sober and sitting with the tough stuff and oneself. And this brings those who are also doing it together quite quickly. It's a very different headspace. Proper recovery. It takes an immense amount of courage to both do it and get it right.

I have massive respect for anyone who's chosen to consciously and soberly heal themselves.

They are warriors of note!

But, because it is such a tough thing to do... it's a complete lifestyle change and people lose a lot in the process (old friends and places and even activities),.. people who are in the early days are pretty skittish.

Understandable.

Less than half of people who try actually get it right and stay recovered.

And a relapse results in death for many. So... it's serious. And people take it very, very seriously indeed.

I hope this explains my concern a bit more. It's more about wanting Hive to expand after what I've experienced here... yes!

It is a totally different experience mental health wise... and addiction wise. And I"ve been moaning about Facebook and Instagram for some years now. Due to the addiction and mental problems they cause.

It's dangerous now.

Here's why I reached out to flag the word as well - with regards to social media. The numbers are out and awareness is growing. I'm out there punting the benefits of Hive from a mental health perspective because of the way it works in opposition to these main platforms. Because it does. I've had a good look now. And it's actually quite beneficial for self esteem and mental health.

That's what I'm using to encourage people to join the community. And it's an honest recommendation. With solid intentions. Always :)
