I Remember 13.

I was born on the month of February.
I'd like to think that day had bright blue skies with birds,
Chirping as if welcoming my arrival.
My bleak vage mind can't recall my early years,
But I remember 13. I remember it like it was book read to me.
With the lines burned into my memory.
By 13, I was head over heels with a boy who saw me as a boy.
I won't blame him though, I was a boy with the body of a girl.
I was rotund so I didn't really have lots of friends, But,
I had you.
They said I was weird, you said I wasn't.
My first almost kiss was with a boy I liked and you watched as it almost happened.
Thinking now, I'm glad it never did.
By 13, I had anorexia.
My mind didn't consider me beautiful anymore.
I thought of it as me maturing, you told me it wasn't.
I was ugly and fat.
You were beautiful and slender.
By 14, I had to leave home.
I had to leave you too.
