The National Pantheon

This photo brings me fond memories of my visit to the National Pantheon which is the site where the remains of the great heroes of Venezuela rest. This monument was erected in honor of the great General Francisco de Miranda, who was promoted to the rank of admiral in chief post mortem for July 14, 2016.

This other monument is in honor of the Grand Marshal of Ayacucho whose name is Antonio José de Sucre, a hero of the independence who went down in history as President of Bolivia, Supreme Military Chief of Peru and Grand Mariscal de Ayacucho.
