Indiff’rent light, seen by a mindless eye.
A hundredth of a second's worth returned
from you and burned itself unconsciously
into a milky film, emulsified
to keep forgotten memories. It fades
untouchable yet clearly portrays all
that I lost. You bleed into the background
as you never did in life.
