Tartar your enemy

How many times has your dental hygienist told you to floss? We all have good intentions and swear that we will do better, but it just never seems to happen. If you ever wonder what builds up below the gum line that causes so much trouble look not further. The tooth in the picture shows a large white projection sticking out the side of that tooth. That my friends is billions of bacteria that has formed a lovely colony of chaos. They will destroy your tissue and over time you will loose the bone that keeps your teeth in your mouth. This patient had a rough time with the cleaning because the tissue is so inflamed from that rock of tartar. Flossing and regular dental visits could have spared this patient.
