Sociopolitical Trend Forecasting 2018 (liberals, conservatives)

https://img.esteem.ws/7ndxnmy3tg.jpg

I've predicted trends such as the failure of the Kilroy "free speech" event, progressive non-participation in debates with the alt-right and general yearly trends on other publishing websites. Now that I've decided to incentivise my work on Steemit, I'm compiling all of my predictions for 2018 left/right politics right here.

RIGHT WING / CONSERVATIVE SOCIAL MEDIA PREDICTIONS:

  • Social media personalities in the conservative sphere focusing less on free speech issues and more on debates surrounding a return to traditionalism
  • Conservative Social Media Gossip "Yes, Margaret?" predicts the rise of "Vacation Nationalism", right-wing commentators going to nations they aren't citizens of and becoming involved in that countries nationalist efforts
  • Increasing debates on the place and motivation of traditionalist women in conservative spaces (predicted by "Yes, Margaret?")

LEFT WING / PROGRESSIVE SOCIAL MEDIA PREDICTIONS:

  • Progressive commentators avoiding live debates and conversations with alt-right to avoid brand damage in favor of creating commentary from the sidlines intended for their peronalized audiences
  • More focus on hardline progressivism and intersectionality (mostly racial issues) as a pushback against rise in nationalist rhetoric in the right wing sphere
  • Criticism of feminist content becoming less popular as a trend, feminism in general being less popular as a trend
  • Radicalization of the left wing in response to Donald Trump's continued cavalier attitude regarding social justice issues, growing insistence and acceptance of violence as a solution/means to an end

How do you feel about my predictions for 2018? Anything you think I missed? Let me know your thoughts.
