Waking Up Just in Time

Hey friends and Draw a day family I am happy to see @allyson19’s comic contest back after a long pause. You know I couldn’t resist jumping in with an entry, especially with a theme that is relatable.

Interpreting the Theme: A Very Literal Slumber
When I thought about the contest making its big comeback, I immediately imagined what Pinky the piglet and Spiky the hedgehog would be doing during all that time away. My take on the theme? They weren’t just waiting they were literally in a deep, long slumber the entire time like hibernation

• Sleepy Stretch Energy: I drew Pinky and Spiky groggily waking up, stretching their arms high with those classic half-lidded, confused eyes. That feeling when you sleep so long you completely lose track of reality and your muscles are still feeling weak and you are nauseous at the same time. Can you relate?
• The Big Realization: In the middle panel, the speech bubble sums up the whole hiatus with: "WE SLEPT THROUGH EVERYTHING. WHAT TIME IS IT?"
• Vibrant & Cozy Art: I kept my signature clean, bold outline style paired with bright, solid pops of color, like this vibrant pink for Pinky, cool blue for Spiky, and warm cozy tones for the bed.
  It felt so good to bring these two characters back to life for this revival and I am happy to partake.Huge thanks to @allyson19 for bringing back the contest and giving us artists to be creative
