TRADITION

Everywhere world over, people have distinct customs and tradition. It is way of life of such individual.
The tone of discussion depends on who is talking about such tradition, for me I came across a very rear tradition among the Yorubas in south western part of Nigeria.
Respect for the elderly and custom is one thing that can not be taken away from the Yorubas.
In the photograph above, the beaded staff signify the presence of a Yoruba Oba, whether he is physically present or not, the people will still reverence him as if he was present.
I witness this at a function I attended recently and I feel it worth sharing.

The man holding the staff is just one of the Oba's office but as long as he holds the staff he enjoins the honour of the King.
What a great privilege.
