Hike your own hike

“Hike your own hike” is a term that I’ve learned to thoroughly appreciate lately. In the backpacking world it’s taking your own approach with hiking, section hiking, or thru-hiking. Hiking your own hike doesn’t mean to create new paths. It’s almost like a mantra..

To me it’s creating your own adventure. When you are outdoors, try to absorb all you can.

Almost like living in the moment.

Coming across a stream that you need to cross can be daunting if you don’t want to get wet. Or you can create your own adventure and fjord across that stream.

When you are outdoors in nature it can be a surreal experience, even when living in the big city. I’ve been hiking recently and it’s something that makes you think clearer, breathe easier, and put things into perspective.

Go... create you own adventure. Hike your own hike.
