Hello Steemitians , first post here for me , So to introduce myself name Mark. main bizness is Dub and Reggae music , i been playing out as a dj for 27 years now , starting out working in Blues Parties and Shebeens and Squats in the St Pauls area of Bristol training with Armagideon Rock sound system , later establishing our own party sound 'The enjoyment Service ' and for the last 10 years running 'Dub ReVolution' , also done a bit of music production , producing our own tunes as well as recording many demos, vocals and instruments for other people in my home studio
i've had periods of being quite sucessfull playing at large clubs and festivals but i realised gradually that these sort of gigs weren't making me happy and nowadays i concentrate on playing in underground self organised spaces , i a long association with radio , currently broadcasting live every thursday night at http://radio.rastafari.cz/ Our shows feature live muscians and singers jamming on the dub versions of the songs and i mix down in a dub sound system style live . My other main interest has been political activisim and indeed the music i play i see as a tool for opening people minds and spreading positive messages . , been involved in squatting some big spaces over the years and opening them up for community use and was on the frontline with many direct action campaigns when i was younger, nowadays i concentrate on education, consciouness raising and support.
