Pinned posts on Steemit profile

This suggestion is to propose the addition of pinned posts in a user's feed. A kin to the pin to profile function on other social media and micro-blogging platforms.
Proposal
A widget or additional option in a post's drop down menu could say "Pin to Steemit" or "Pin to Profile" and even include a time sensitive option such as "Pin for X hours/days".
Benefits
The benefits of this addition would be that users would see a global message on another user's feed, which can include a specialized and seasonal message from the OP.
