A shining light

I twisted and turned on a lonely night
And suddenly I saw a shining light.
I tried to look away, for it was so bright
But I know I've been looking for it all my life.
I looked away and it was still there
I think it could sense my fear,
I want to spend my whole life
Holding it dear.
I feel safe when it’s near.
Days have passed, nights have gone,
It has never left me alone.
Thinking what will happen if it left me,
Makes me shudder.
When I tried to find what the bright light was,
I found that it was my mother,
My dear mother!
