plantbreeding@home #5 - Small setbacks

Dear Steemians,

hello again! I am deeply sorry for being unavailable forquite some time now, but my PhD left me without choice. Those past months were hell and left me without energy to write or complete the articles I have planned to write for you, or give you detailed updates on the plantbreedingathomeproject. This will change now, as I have small amounts of free time again here and there, and therefore can write again. I tried to at least read all the articles that interest me and vote for the great bloggers here on steemit though to show my support for all you great writers out there!

Being away, something great happened without me noticing – I have now over 100 followers! Thank you so much, I am delighted that you liked what I have been writing. Support and a benevolent community are the biggest treasures inblogging, and I appreciate those unfathomably. Thank you so much!

But now to more important things: Our project! Unfortunately, I have bad news – The plants I tried to get to flower again did not, but died because of a heavy pest infection. This delays everything a bit, as I have to grow new plants for the first crossing. I already started this, as soon as I see seedlings I will post pictures!  You can expect a post about the plant family of peppers and the chemistry behind the "hot" feeling while eating them quite soon, maybe even tomorrow, so stay tuned!
